The Year 2020 Is Witnessing A Shift From Face To Face Teaching To Online Teaching. To What Extend Do You Agree Or Disagree With The Given Statement?

Introduction
The year 2020 has brought a major shift in teaching style, it changed the way of teaching. Face to face teaching, formal type of teaching in which students and teachers go to educational institutions and the lecture is delivered in classroom, is shifted to online teaching. Online teaching is an informal way of teaching where internet is used to deliver lectures and connect students and teachers. Students attain classes from their home, teachers also deliver lectures from their home, instead of going to school, college, or university. In my point of view online teaching is not a good idea. Some of the reasons why I ‘am not supporting online education are as under,
The Year 2020 Is Witnessing A Shift From Face To Face Teaching To Online Teaching. To What Extend Do You Agree Or Disagree With The Given Statement?
Lack Of Internet
Pakistan is among under developing countries and its all regions and areas are not very much advanced, they do not have advanced technology and many other facilities like internet. Since internet is the main and most important factor in online education, how can students belonging to remote areas attain their classes? The students living in such areas will lag behind, their education will be suffered. For illustration, Kailash valley in Chitral, Shandur and many other areas in Gilgit Baltistan have no any internet facility, these areas even do not have mobile service. The students living in these areas cannot move to any other place or net cafe for their classes due to lock down. What can these students do for their education, can their struggle and work in education will be wasted?
Low Internet Speed
Other major problem in online education is internet speed. In Pakistan there are some areas where there is no any internet or Wi-Fi facility but they have mobile service. The students in that areas may use mobile data but the speed of data cannot be trusted because of the 2g/3g service. For example in my area there is no any Wi-Fi system and the speed of internet is very low because of only 2g service. I cannot join a single class with that speed of internet. Even it takes too much time for uploading and downloading an image or document. In these type of classes almost 60% work depends on internet which has no proper system in my area. It is really difficult for me to submit an assignment because of their late arrival.

I have not taken a single class yet, as I cannot join because of the slow internet. So it is not possible for me to take online classes with this speed of internet.
Load Shedding
In Pakistan load shedding is a major problem, there are some areas which face 10 to 18 hours of load shading. This load shading creates the issue of charging in electronic devices. Since we cannot use our PCs and mobile phones without charging. So if our system battery is dead at the time of class and we have light issue, we are unable to attain that class. Furthermore the new technology (Mobile Phones, PCs, Tablets) cannot be trusted, the system can create problems at any time.
Less Interaction
It is one of the main reason behind my decision that, the online classes skips so many interactions between the students and teachers, and between teachers as well. We clear our doubts about the topic by asking questions at a time. Even it will be difficult for the teacher to manage the questions. If teacher unmute the speakers of whole class it creates noise which disturb the learning process and if teacher mute the speakers of students, they face problems in asking questions. The idea of online classes will also skip the opportunities of getting information from the other teachers of the department. In face to face classes we can easily solve our problems like fee and scholarship etc by visiting different offices. We can also clear our doubts by visiting to the teachers after class in face to face classes.
Conclusion
In conclusion I say that online teaching is not a good idea, as it has many problems. It may be a very good idea for the developed countries but not for us. If we improve our technology and the internet facilities, it may work. But without advanced facilities and technology it will not be beneficial.
